Walk-A-Thon

Walk-A-Thon Raises Money and

Supports School Spirit!

Walking is not only great for our health but it is a wonderful way to raise school spirit!  On Thursday, September 9, East Avenue held its first Walk-A-Thon. All students participated in the walk and many students received pledges from family, friends and neighbors who helped cheer on the students and teachers at the event.  Students in grades 4th-6th walked 15 laps around the school, grades 1-3 walked 10 laps, and kindergarteners walked 5 laps.  Volunteers and staff members gave students water throughout their walk and kept track of their laps. We raised over $8K to fund our library/computer lab and study trips for the year! Students who raised the most money received awesome prize baskets that teachers and parents created. Thanks to all the students, staff, parents, and volunteers who helped make this a successful event!

PTA Back to School Picnic

Back to School Picnic a Success!

The PTA hosted its annual Back to School Picnic on Wednesday, August 25th. We had a great turnout of students, parents and staff who enjoyed a wonderful evening of good food, games and music! Special thanks to Ms. Theresa Rothe of the PTA for organizing the picnic and to Mr. Jude Wellington for deejaying the event!
